NEW EMALKAY REMIXES and video featuring Lena Cullen of She Is Danger!

I don't need to say anything about Emalkay... if you listen to dubstep you love this shit already... and if you don't listen to it I doubt you'll be able to resist this track! It features ISoA favourites She Is Danger's Lena Cullen on vocals. Here's a little info on her...

"Already hailed as "the Kate Bush of Dubstep" - Lena Cullen is a British multi-instrumentalist / producer / vocalist from London drawing on dubstep, dub, trip-hop, techno, electronica and dark wave in her work.

Known to many as one half of female dub electronica duo She is Danger, alongside rising supernova producer / DJ Maya Jane Coles; Lena has already made fans out of the likes of Adam F, Damon Albarn and Massive Attack's Robert Del Naja.

As She is Danger; Lena has remixed artists such as Gorillaz, Groove Armada, Ellie Goulding, Delphic and, in particular, an acclaimed dubby reworking of Massive Attack's 'Girl, I Love You' which was included on the deluxe album version of the band's 'Heliogland!'

Lena has forthcoming single collaborations landing in 2011 with Dub Police's seminal Emalkay named 'The World' and Engine-Earz Experiment's 'Reach You' - the latter collab has already enjoyed wide ranging radio and club support prior to it's Spring 2011 release date with the track already gaining almost half a million views on Youtube alone!

After a recent highly successfully solo UK tour supporting Dreadzone; Lena's debut album 'Something Subconcious' [Working Title] will be largely co-produced by herself and Andru Lorenzo and is scheduled to arrive in late 2011."

And here's info about Emalkay if you don't already know:

"With initial support in the form of grime veteran Plastician, “Birmingham’s finest” Emalkay gained the attention of South London based label Boka Records with the warped, future bass drones and epic strings of Gut Feeling. Continuing the success, Testing The Waters EP was released in October 2006 followed by Monsters in June 2007.

The revolutionary sound of Mecha, released in the fall of 2007, gained Emalkay support from the likes of Radio 1 DJ Mary Anne Hobbs and breakbeat pioneer FreQ Nasty, as well as many of the leading figures of the current dubstep scene. It seemed Emalkay’s own potential as a pivotal dubstep artist was finally being realised. His final release on Boka Records was the reggae influenced My Story in April 2008.

In the fall of 2008, Emalkay produced Explicit - a tune that gradually captured the interest of such prominent dubsteppers as Benga and received major support from acts such as The Scratch Perverts and drum and bass duo Chase and Status. After being approached by Caspa however, the track was finally released on the Dub Police label in February 2009 after much anticipation."

EXCLUSIVE: Unreleased Simian Mobile Disco, Fenech Soler & Vega remixes, and Heads We Dance Remix album!

Well, after waiting 7 months, I've finally decided to go ahead and post this unreleased Simian Mobile Disco track. It seems that a few others have made their way onto the Hype Machine ("Flea In Your Ear", "Pinball") so I suppose at this point they must not mind. It's a rough mix anyway which is sort of like looking through the trash bin seeing as it's not the finished product... unless you really like SMD. I do, and this song is the shit.

Simian Mobile Disco- "Santiago (Rough Mix)"

UK residents Fenech-Soler did a remix for someone called Mimo?!? I no nothing about the gent but the song is pretty fucking cool. There is a Vega (from Austin, Texas) remix here as well and both are in 320 for you audiophiles! The Fenech-Soler remix is vaguely trancey, and sort of his this gospel-y chorus, and frankly I'm not even sure what genre it is, but in my mind that's a good thing? I really like the bit at 5:10... really good song for transitions in a DJ set...

Check out more Fenech-Soler at Myspace, and Vega also at Myspace!

And lastly our good friends Heads We Dance have decided on a winner for their remix competition! AND their new remix album Dance Technology is on it's way as well... here's some more info from the group themselves:

"The first remix competition entry we've chosen to go on our forthcoming remix album, Dance Technology, is on our MySpace player now (http://www.myspace.com/headswedance)! The remix of our album track 'You Are Never Alone With Model 21' is by the fantastic Justin Faust and features brand new vocals by Becky! Check the remix out now and let us know what you think.

The Dance Technology album is a "best of" our remixes and includes tracks by Don Diablo, Frankmusik, Russ Chimes, Tepr, Louis La Roche and Sidechains, as well as four exclusive new remixes. It will be available as a FREE download for a limited time from www.headswedance.co.uk from 28th September. Keep checking our website for more details!

In celebration of the art of the remix, we've started a weekly series of articles on our favourite remixes. You can read the latest here
".

Ok, that's all I've got right now BUT I'll be back soon! Enjoy!

EXCLUSIVE! Chew Lips- Salt Air (Plastician Remix)

After hearing this I think Plastician should do a WHOLE album like this. It's one of the big things dubstep is missing: female vocals. I mean it doesn't need them ALL the time, because I like that hard shit too, but sometimes dubstep is TOO hard. This remix of Crew Lips new track comes off like this decades Breakbeat Era... that is soulful, dark, and compulsively listenable.

Here's some press:
"Their new track was out the other week on Kitsune but didn't have this Plastician remix available on it. They were on the recent Kitsune 7 with their track 'Solo'."

EXCLUSIVE: Hostage presents the Sunburn Mix!

I've obviously been having problems with writing recently. Just... I dunno. Once again it's like 1) ennui, 2) lack of cool music, 3) DMCA take downs and... just, something feels off. I've been PRAYING for something cool to hit my inbox (no offense to people whose stuff I have yet to post)...

And finally something came my way...

You may be familiar with the name Hostage. In fact I recently posted a Hostage, along with my friends Acid Girls, remix of 3OH!3's "Don't Trust Me"! Even if you've been barely paying attention to the blogosphere, at this point, if you're not familiar with the name (doubtful) then you're familiar with the music.

Hostage hails from Edinburgh, Scotland, (which put him neck and neck with Swayzak to be our favourite Scottish artist; sorry Hudson Mohawke, you're dope though) and has really taken the internet by storm. This new mix, like all my favourites, is very diverse and isn't afraid to veer away from the obvious and genre hop without sounding unorganized. If you've only heard Hostage's remix or production work this mix will prove to you this guy is also a DJ's DJ as well... expect to see a lot more from him in future posts. I love this shit so much he's automatically Arcadian Family!

Hostage Sunburn Mix 2009 zShare
Hostage Sunburn Mix 2009 YSI

Here's the tracklisting!

Seriously, that picture above is what Ima look like when I come back from Jamaica. Off topic, but does anyone have suggestions for places to go while I'm down there? I want to get into some soundsystem action...

Back to Hostage: his next release will be a remix of Foamo's 'Wardance' on Skint Records, also with remixes from Reso and Hijack.

Also it's worth noting, for those of you residing in the Uk, Hostage will be playing at Glade Festival in England this weekend on Sunday. So, download the mix, get yourself pumped, sort out your mates, and get buck this weekend with Hostage... and tell him ISoA sent ya...

Be back soon!

Heads We Dance Remix Competition!

As you very well may know I've been out of circulation because of sickness, and general irritation with the blogging world. I want to stay on Blogger... but... I'm looking into switching... the take downs are a little too much and I don't want to loose good interviews and exclusive material to DMCA garbage.

Anyway... I think it's important to post this about my fam and their remix project! I thank them from waking me from my blogging coma lol...

Happy 2009! Outlaws bring you free music!

Ahhhh yes. A new year! Hope you all had safe and happy holidays!

Mine was depressing, but also great... my own family is falling apart at the seams. My father is jobless and $250k in the hole, my aunt is very depressed, my sister is off at UofM, and my dad is living with his mother... and on the other side my mum is taking care of my grandma and neither one of them is doing well health wise. And while I love and care about all those people it's very nice and refreshing to have the love, support, and stability of my in-laws who made my holiday amazing. I, from the bottom of my heart, thank my wife, her parents, her sister, and my future brother in law for the most peaceful Xmas since I was like 4 years old. No threats. No fist fights. No hard drugs being done out in the open (or drugs at all for that matter). No sloppy drunks telling everyone they wish someone hadn't been born... just nice clean relaxing joy :) But enough sapppppp...

This is the first year where Arcadia has started out the year in a good position! Usually there has been some dramatic set back or lack of posts but... kids, things are going good right now... and *knock on wood* hopefully they'll stay that way. I've got my lovely wife to see me through it any way you look at it sooooo...

...On to the music! I've gotten a couple promo emails recently but Outlaws sent me one today... and I remember really liking the last thing they sent so I'm all about this. This song is from Gin Wigmore who is apparently being championed by our dear Larry Tee's friend Perez (speaking of, Larry where art thou? You're back from Australia yeah?)...

Gin Wigmore sounds like Fiona/Winehouse/Kate Nash and is Australian (you know the prison jokes by now if you read this blog)... and the song is great. The Bristolian Outlaws touch is great. So good in fact that it reminds me of those amazing 90's jams that came out of that area. I was SO into Bristolian music back then (and now) I made my dad fuck up our itinerary on our trip to the UK and go to Bristol a day early (there were no hotel rooms, my dad still hates me for that mess)... Bristol, not unlike Manchester, has changed the face of modern music and Outlaws are carrying the tradition of good well produced music on!

Here's some of the info I received from Peter from Outlaws:

Here's a remix I've had the pleasure of doing for Gin Wigmore. I'd like to think they wanted an Outlaws mix to give it some kind of Bristolian mystery, creativity and underground cred, but they may well just have done it because I'm cheap.

She's probably going to be mega famous soon, that Perez Hilton guy likes her and she's been taken on by some US mega managers too, which is probably how he Perez bloke knows about them, but maybe that's just cynicism.

Please accept my apologies in advance, it's not a rave banger. I'm not even sure if it has a bassline. It certainly doesn't have a kick drum that wants to bash your mind in.

It's quite a nice song really.

Here went on to get quite personal and it was a hoot but for his sake I'm just posting that much of the email lol. Anyway, much love to Outlaws, Bristolian music, and this Gin girl... I'll get back to a normal writing pattern soon so bare with me.

Big thanks again to all of you who are subscribing to my feeds, "following" the blog officially (via the opinion through Google to 'follow'), commenting on the posts, downloading the songs, and being all around awesome. I feel really blessed to have the type of readers I do, the type of friends I do in the industry (where I don't feel like either of us are getting used), and the amazing artists who give a little piece of themselves to this blog here and there. So thanks for reading... please, if you have any suggestions contact me, and I'll try to make this the best year for you and me yet. Cheers!

P.S. Check out more Outlaws at their site, on the Outlaws Facebook page and some thing called Myspace that no one fucking uses anymore.

Teef Remix by Frankmusik

Man I love doing this blogging shit. It's like, if my normal life is eating cow balls, my internet life is off the hook.

I did an annoying mass mailing yesterday to so called 'industry people' to push the podcast around. And as much as we all hate those emails a lot of people chimed in with their support.

One such person is the great Mr. Vincent Frank (aka Frankmusik) with a little treat that should knock your socks off...

A rapper from South London called Teef got a nice remixing from Frankmusik... he's pretty ill... and I really like this drawings so you should check out at his Myspace.

As far as the remix goes? This is one of the the most maximal remixes Frankmusik has done... it has a very French feel to it... like if the last Daft Punk album had a rapper and some melodies on it lol...

I'M JUST KIDDING, JUST KIDDING! I love Daft Punk...

OFFTOPIC: I had to explain to the wife why this hideous rave flier with Thomas Bangalter's autograph on it had to stay up in our bedroom as it is my favourite possession. If I haven't told the story before I'll tell it now and keep it short... When I was 17 we were in Chicago, it was around Christmas time and the streets were filled with thousands of people. We had come to Chicago to see Thomas Bangalter spin at a Dust Traxx party, but given the plastic masks Daft Punk were using at the time, we didn't even know what he looked like... and suddenly, amongst crowds of thousands, I see this dude with a Cassius t-shirt on that looked to be French and ran after him. If I didn't speak French this would have been a disaster but, long story short, it ended up in my all time favourite artist meeting. Because come on... how many people have met Daft Punk? Bangalter gave me the flyer for the show and, along with his autograph, it's hanging in my room... hideous as ever. I know I've told this story before now that I've typed it but I don't care. That shit was awesome!

Anyway, I'd write more about Teef... but I don't know anymore! So check out his site and bring yourself up to speed because his flow is pretty sick... I'm sure this isn't the last you've heard of him on this site ;)

Sinden takes "Run It" to the limit!

Oh EPMD... how I miss those 1993 school days where I would pop in the tape I had bought at the library and get to know what hip-hop was really all about. The easy breezy days where I was a fat kid dreaming about marrying the girl I actually ended up marrying. They were good times...

Now in a "brand new you're retro" kind of way we've got that same energy back as Graeme Sinden (known to most just as Sinden) has brought the pain with a remix of "Run It". Fireeeeeee in the building. I'm so happy to see good hip-hop and fierce dance music paired together yet again. I mean, Sinden & The Count of Monte Cristal gave us the Kid Sister laced "Beeper" and therefore essentially rule this genre. Hell, they rule the game. Period.

EPMD- "Run It (Sinden Remix)" YSI

EPMD- "Run It (Sinden Remix)" zShare

This is what the end of your summer really needs... a jam like this.

Here's the original... this isn't a video so much as a collection of pictures. I don't really care to look at EPMD but the song is just sweet as they get...

This nugget was brought to you by Scion A/V... which I was initially sort of suspect about because (despite this site being riddled with ads) I'm always fearful about the level of involvement with a corporate sponsor in music. BUT Scion A/V has just brought selections of killer tracks over and over and over. That 45 King Remix Project? So fucking super fly. That Ghostface "Charlie Brown" set of remixes? Off the fucking chain. They have my respect.

I've got big things coming up in the next week... a review of recent Fabric cds that I've been sitting on, an interview with Howie B coming up, and all sorts of candies for youuuuuu. Keep it locked!

Bang bang bang on the wall... Ladyhawke again!

So last night I watched the film adaptation of the Luke Davies masterpiece Candy (starring the late Heath Ledger)... and not only did it make me wonder if that film was more responsible than any other for his demise... but it made me think more about how we totally overlook Australia constantly.

I mean shit... The Presets, Van She, Modular HQ... That should be enough to keep people focused on Australia for a while but if not we can throw Ladyhawke into the mix.

This is the third post Arcadia has dedicated in some way to Ladyhawke... and in some small way I think that means that she gets a full on stamp of approval. Maybe even induction into Arcadia family?!? We'll see. She's not British, but she's living in London from what I hear, and she is from Britain's prison island (it's just a joke, just a joke) and I think that's probably enough to at LEAST put her in the extended family lol.

This remix is the type of stomper (especially for people who need to stop playing "Standing In The Way Of Control") that will get you wild in a club even if it's the first time you've heard it.

Ladyhawke is the alter ego of New Zealander Pip Brown. After spending time in Sydney in various bands, she has upped sticks even further still, and now resides in London, where she wrote her forthcoming debut album (released 22nd September)

Other remixes on the release include The Shoes and Linus Loves

Having toured with We Are Scientists and Soulwax this year, Ladyhawke has also appeared at Glastonbury and will be playing Bestival on the Isle of Wight.

Nice stuff yeah? That Linus Loves remix is a fucking banger, I bet ya! Hope you enjoy. In the meantime... we've got ummmm... well more ads yeah? Quite a few lol! I'm trying to figure out how to make this less intrusive and more content oriented so... we'll see what happens. In the meantime bare with me... P.S. On a totally unrelated note, are we ever going to see a Late Of the Pier album?

Trevor Lovey's remixes "City of Lights"

They call it many things. Fidgethouse and stuff like that. Whatever, who cares.

All I know it that it sounds fucking awesome and all those dudes who are part of Machines Don't Care have been ruling my iPod for about a year (I gotta ask though, were Switch and Diplo too busy working together to get in on that MDC album? Because then it really would have been like Superfriends). Trevor Loveys (of Speakerjunk and MDC fame) has done a wicked wicked remix for you folks for a band called City Reverb...

City Reverb- "City of Lights (Trevor Loveys Vocal Mix)"

It's getting a proper release on the 8th of September. Might want to check out some more at www.myspace.com/cityreverb (which by the way includes a free download of a Prins Thomas remix). Of course also check out Mr Loveys Myspace over at www.myspace.com/trevorloveys.

This song is so good you're going to be hearing it still a year from now. Seriously. Here's more info on who you're listening to.

City Reverb are Chris Coco, Micky Bucherri, Nick Cornu, Adam Barry and Lew West

‘City of Lights’ will be released on CD and 12”. Other remixers of the track include Reverso 68, Prins Thomas, Dr Strangelove and Larry Fives

The track is the second single from the album ‘Lost City Folk’, which is released on 15th September. Chris describes it the album’s genre as “Robot Soul”

This summer the band have already played at Glastonbury Festival and will be also gracing the stages of Bestival, Green Man Festival and Camp Bestival

Upcoming live dates:
19th July: Camp Bestival, Dorset
1st August: Late At Tate Modern, London
2-3rd August: Stella Polaris, Denmark
15th August: Green Man Festival, Wales
5th September: Bestival, Isle of Wight

I gotta run to work... offset that small bit of "peace of mind" I got two weeks ago. Be back soon. Stay tuned.

Underworld Fake Blood Awesomeness

Ah yes... Underworld... one of the 5 greatest dance bands of the 90's (Prodigy, Daft Punk, Basement Jaxx, Leftfield probably yeah?) returned with a great album a few months back and a really great single now. "Ring Road" has been the most requested song for us, over at Albion, since this album came out... now the ante has been upped with this "Fake Blood" remix that we'll end up playing the hell out of! Sweet Wednesday luck... new Róisín Murphy... with a TODDLA T REMIX!

You guys remember Moloko yeah? I mean, those of you who live in the UK would have to have brain damaged to forget! But those of us in the U.S. who remember them, remember them mostly from warehouse raves with "Sing It Back" and "The Time Is Now"... well I suppose the latter was actually more of a club song even here in the U.S. but whatevs. POINT IS... you all know the voice of Róisín Murphy... she's got a new one out, after her success with "Overpowered", you know it's going to be a bruiser... More Koch for you... Jahcoozi treat from the Robot himself...

We all know Robot Koch is the shit. Well, at least all of you who caught the FIRE ass motherfucking remixes he gave me a month or so ago know he is... and the rest of you should know that shit as well seeing as you read blogs right? How could you not all be huge Jahcoozi fans? See, I knew that was a question I didn't need to even ask...

Robot Koch was nice enough to send over Jahcoozi's BLN E.P. (which you can purchase over at eMusic and make both and I some money) and let me pick which ever track I wanted to post. I think you would have gotten a MUCH higher bitrate if I posted the ones he sent (and maybe I'll post a high bitrate version later) but the internet at school sucks and since I already own BLN I'm just going to upload the same mp3 from my collection :)

I've decided to go with the CLP (Chris de Luca vs Phono remix) seeing as that's our mutual favourite track that you too, I'm sure, will love if you don't already have it...

Seriously though... both BLN and Blitz'n'Ass are over at eMusic (that's where I got em)... keep your eyes and ears tuned to this blog because I'm a Jahcoozi "lifer" (meaning they make a song full of fart sounds and I would think it was fucking brilliant... although didn't Venitian Snare's do that a couple years ago?) which means you can bet your ass you'll see more from them here...

Late Of The Pier (Portasound Remix) is awesome...

I have very little to say about this... except it's really fucking good. Portasound sent this to me after my open invitation for new music (and there's other stuff from other people I need to get up here too) but you REALLY have to hear this. Late Of the Pier are obviously getting remixed to fuck so you've gotta separate the good from the bad, and this actually falls into the great pile.

And this is a little morsel of interestingness from their Myspace just in case you questioned their awesomeness...
THEY HAVE RECENTLY 'SHARED THE BILL' WITH THESE LOVELY FOLK:
Metronomy
Friendly Fires
Primary 1
Get Cape Wear Cape Fly
The Lost Boys

Which means that they are obviously on the rise... ON THE RISE YA HEARD!!! We've got lots of those type around here. Hopefully at the end of the year we can look back and say "Man, Arcadia knew what was going down!??!" right? I certainly hope so...

Late Of the Pier- "Broken (Portasound Remix)"

There is a WHOLE FUCKING E.P. OVER AT THEIR MYSPACE that you need to check out.... get over there now... the link is in their name above...

"Like a phoenix from the ashes..."
I'll try to be back soon... I've got loads to post... Thanks for tolerating my absence...

Oh yeah... and join eMusic... they got that new Cool Kids which ain't British but it is fire... you know you heard it on that Rhapsody (barf) commercial that's on TV... hotness...

STOP THE PRESSES! WHAT? NEW HOT CHIP?!?!?

So, I'm my way to work... and what comes my way? A JESSE ROSE REMIX OF A NEW HOT CHIP TRACK...

Thought bubble: Bwahhhh???

Yeah, it made my head spin in 12 different directions too!

Here's the info...

‘READY FOR THE FLOOR’
RELEASED 28TH JANUARY ON EMI RECORDINGS

‘Ready For The Floor’ is the first single to be taken from Hot Chip’s forthcoming album ‘Made In The Dark’ released 4th February.

Hot Chip created a huge buzz earlier this year when they released the very limited Todd Rundgren sampling 12” 'Shake A Fist'.

As a firm live favourite it has been a staple of the Hot Chip set for some time, so much so that it has taken over from ‘Over and Over’ as the show closer.

For the video they have once again collaborated with Nima Nourizadeh, who directed 'Over and Over' and 'Colours' from last years’ ‘The Warning’.

Ready For The Floor features Remixes from Jesse Rose and Soulwax, Diplo remix of Shake A Fist is available on commercial formats.

To herald the release of their new album and in keeping with their tireless work ethic Hot Chip will be taking their thrilling live show all over the UK throughout the month of February.

Where is home? (Burial, Quarta 330, Metronomy Remixes)

Gosh... I'm not even sure where I've been.

It's... I've been crazy busy. More like I've been crazy. Whatever... this time of year is kind of fun for all of us that don't have normal families. Or it's crazy for those of us that don't have normal work situations and get blamed for things we couldn't have possibly done because we don't even have the permissions in the programs that these alleged things happened in. *COUGH* I'm real sick of getting blamed for things I didn't do. Just in case you were wondering WORK.

ANYWAY... since there is no coherent theme to anything I'm saying... lets do the same with the post!

I'm fucking super mega stoked about this AWESOME 8 Bit insanity that Quarta 330 is dropping on Hyperdub. Those guys can do no wrong... as you know from my Last.fm account, Burial is like all I'm listening to... and I'm one of Kode 9's top listeners... I'm all about that Hyperdub! BECAUSE OF THAT I'M NOT GOING TO BE KEEPING THIS UP LONG! YOU SHOULD SUPPORT QUARTA 330 AND DOWNLOAD THIS SONG ON eMUSIC!

Quarta 330- "9 Samurai (Quarta 330 Mix)"

Gorillaz are releasing another b-sides collection, this time called "D Sides"... there is a remix disc, and come on, who doesn't love remixes... if you read this blog I know you LOVE em... I'm all about Metronomy...

Gorillaz- "El Manana (Metronomy Remix)"

Gorillaz- "El Manana (Metronomy Remix)" YSI

And while I'm talking about Metronomy... they were on the first Kitsune Maison album... and Kitsune is NOW ON FUCKING eMUSIC!!! HOW FUCKING INSANE IS THAT!?!?!? Get it while it's good (Ed Banger made it like one month and then took all their shit off)... Check it out... just search of Metronomy and click on the only link and it will take you there... you know... after you sign up via my banners :)

And... uh... what else? How about more Hyperdub... I love Bloc Party so you need to go buy the "Flux" single to get this little gem. Why you ask? Because a) this music is supposed to be for evaluation purposes only and deleated 24 hrs after it is downloaded and b) the fucking single looks awesome. Also as people keep buying less and less and less from the music world the singles are going to become crazy collectible because no one is going to have th physical copies. Have you seen "Flux"? IT LOOKS FUCKING AWESOME!

Bloc Party- "Where Is Home (Burial)"

Bloc Party- "Where Is Home (Burial)" YSI

And that's that. I'm just going to have a depressathon for now and figure my life out really really quickly. Sorry if you don't reach me in that time. I'll be back soon... I've got so many other blogs I'm working on, songs I'm writing, family members I'm helping, people I'm trying to entertain, things I'm getting blamed for that I didn't do, that I forget sometimes to give you guys love. Just ask my girlfriend. It's not easy. But I love you... you'll get your music... don't worry... everybody else may not get they shit though... ya heard?

WORK! YOU AIN'T GETTING MY NECK YA HEARD! I DIDN'T DO THAT SHIT... BLAME IT ON THE PEOPLE WHO REALLY DID IT (hint: It's not me, or the other person you are blaming it on even though all the circumstantial evidence points there; have you ever read a detective novel? Or, you know, recognized that it's possible that everything isn't always as it seems... and people DO try to frame people? Well my easy target ass is sick of that... seriously... leave me alone... I do a really good job, especially given the fact that you blame everything that goes wrong on me. Funny thing to do to the guy who just got Employee Of The Month lol...)

Sorry about my absence... here's THE ALIENS (Hot Chip Remix)!

My personal life has been rather turbulent recently. Can't really go in to detail but it's the type of thing that makes you stop updating your blog.

So... here's the good news... Hot Club de Paris are going to do an interview with me here soon, as they are working on their new album in Chicago at the moment... so you have something to look forward to! And I want to get an interview with both Kash, and South Central up soon too... just depends on how much energy I have I guess...

In the meantime I'll post an mp3 I was waiting for the "green light" on but I'm pretty sure has been released at this point. It certainly has made the rounds at least. Nailler 9 posted it 100 years ago, so I assume it's safe to post.

Just in case you didn't already know, this secret song I had been talking about posting was the Hot Chip remix of a song for The Aliens... The Aliens are three of the founding members of The Beta Band so they're pretty hot shit without the Hot Chip remix... Click on their name above and that will send you to their Myspace... or read more below to get an idea of what they are all about!

Here's a little bio on The Aliens for ya:

Armed with a bottomless bag of psychedelically inclined rock and acid dipped electronics, The Aliens bring a freedom of spirit and a certainty of intent that immediately sets them out from the current crop of guitar slingers. Inspired by Sergio Leone and Serge Gainsbourg, Brian Eno and Brian Wilson, Larry David and Ol' Dirty Bastard, their songs in the key of Fife reference the past whilst belonging resolutely to the future.

Their Leader is the mysterious superhero Nighthawk - a melodic refugee from the future, sent back to the 21st century from a time where health and safety have deemed his music hazardous. Hiding from several government agencies under the inconspicuous name Gordon Anderson, his self assigned mission in this cetury is to fight the melodic crime that is mainstream pop.

Some time ago, John Maclean AKA Eddie Candles was unearthed from an Bronze Age camp where he had been languishing for anything upto 4000 years. Undergound, he kept himself entertained mainly by humming to himself. Now awake, aware and renamed (twice) he is busily transferring his refined oral melodies to keyboard.

Pungous Nightbread began life as a member of high society, Born unto Cardinal Nightbread and the Duchess of Leith. However, his fortunes soon took a turn for the worse as his parents entrusted his wellbeing to a goose, after learning to comunicate with his guardian using tapping... he became something of a drummer/goose hybrid...casting aside his human name to become Robin Jones...GooseDrum

And here is the most awesome track you'll hear all week (if you don't already have it)!

Here's the video for "Robot Man"... get the song while you can because I'm not going to keep it up long! You should go out and guy their album "Astronomy For Dogs"... it's constantly in my cd player in my car right now...

KATE NASH METRONOMY REMIX!!!

You guys know I fucking love Metronomy... in the last couple months I've been listening to him (errrrr...them? is Metronomy a band now?) quite a bit. His remix material is on par with the other giants in the game like Phones and Crystal Castles so everyone and their mom ask come to him to get a piece of his magic... Architecture in Helsinki, Infadels, Magnet, Dead Disco, Roots Manuva, Franz Ferdinand, Temposhark, Sébastien Tellier, Klaxons, Box Codax, Max Sedgley and The Young Knives just to name a few...

NOW you can add quick up-and-comer Kate Nash to the list. Just in case you weren't aware... here's a little history on Ms Nash from Wikipedia...

"After a few gigs, Kate uploaded her music to the popular website MySpace. Her music soon began to receive support from users of the site and Kate soon found herself a manager (also through MySpace) and began to look around for producers for her music.

Fellow MySpace star Lily Allen has stated that she believes Nash to be the "next big thing" and has also garnered support from publications such as Vogue and NME, the latter dubbing her as 'chavtronica'".

Here at Albion we're more than happy to support "the next big thing" (or basically already becoming big thing) and we love remixes so I couldn't be more happy to present to you the Metronomy remix of the new Kate Nash song "Foundation"! Please leave comments so I can get a feel for what you think of it...

Keep checking back... I've got new tracks from Tiny Dancers and some other people... I'll get them up asap...
