EXCLUSIVE Mixes Free For All! HWD's Halloween Mix and Fabric's Scratch Pervert Mix!

OK... first things first. I understand that copyrighted works are not to be fucked with.

I too, like many of you, am a musician and a DJ and I sure as shit wouldn't want a really great single of mine posted for free somewhere. But, truth be told, law or not, if someone posted a b-side or a remix of mine long after it had come out? I couldn't give a shit regardless of whether I was making money hand over fist or barely had enough to feed my family. Why? Because you can't stop (so called) "piracy"... ever... at all.

And what's worse is with blogs you're usually alienating the people who DO go to the shows and buy the records. We most of the time are NOT the people who are causing the problems... torrent sites, P2P networks, even fucking forums are the places you should be concerned about. Not content oriented blogs that are usually posting ONE song to SUPPORT an artist...

I'm still reeling from yesterday's C&D notice originating with the DCMA. I'm going to have to sort it out because a) it contained one of my best posts and b) presumably, the company that took issue is one that a dear Arcadian friend is signed to (you know, *cough*, the great white hope... the one I can't shut up about) so some resolution is needed. I'M NOT HATING ON THE LABELS OR THE ARTISTS... I'm just not cool with the witch hunt. I could have been ASKED to take the song down and I would have. Some of the other bloggers have posited that there is a reason behind the surge of posts being taken down (perhaps a few new online services that somehow see us as competition?)... I hope whatever is going on doesn't effect this blog or the rest of the decent ones out there.

ANYWAY, first up we have an awesome Halloween mix from Arcadian Family members Heads We Dance. I was just thinking this morning "What am I going to play before my Halloween party?" and now I have two answers lol... peep the track listing...

Hell's yeah. Now here's one you can't even think about missing out on (especially since it's free)! I mean, do you ever think "How can a label/club as big as Fabric be so fucking cool as to give away free stuff that they could charge an arm and a leg for?"... I do! I think it's super rad when labels and artists give stuff away because it makes me want to support them... I hope you guys feel the same way.

Here's the press on this one!
"To celebrate the Scratch Perverts Beatdown here at FABRICLIVE on the 14th of November, 5 x World DMC Team Champions C2C DJs Pfel & Atom aka Beat Torrent have done an exclusive mix for FABRICLIVE that I can let you make available as a download on the site. The Beat torrent show is an intense 90 minute journey through hip hop and electronica mixed with jaw dropping precision and skill, on 4 decks, by record breaking world champion DJs C2C's DJ Pfel and DJ Atom."

Here's the mix...
Scratch Perverts Beatdown Mix for Fabric

Make sure you make it out to Fabric this weekend as well (this line up listed above, remember, is a two weekends from now) because it's going to be just as unbelievable. In fact let me repost that flier for this weekend so you don't miss out on that...

Man, I wish we would get more dubstep artists out to the U.S. (or at least I wish I could see more of them). Also if you missed it there's a Caspa mix a few posts back that is one you dubstep fans CANNOT miss out on... it's too good to pass up!

Anyway loyal readers, hopefully the DCMA issues will be resolved and we can go back to a peaceful existence with the powers that be. PLEASE AIR YOUR CONCERNS IN THE COMMENTS! I've enabled them again so feel free to say what you think of the mixes, what you think of the DCMA situation, or you know... you could just say hi as well :) Be back soon!
